Athletics NSW Target Talent Program 2024

In 2024 the Athletics Australia Target Talent program (TTP) aims to offer a flexible education model incorporating online Webinars and an associated Learning portal in conjunction with Practical Masterclasses run by Athletics NSW. TTP will aim to offer a greater environment for athletes to gain further knowledge to aid their performance development towards achieving higher performance standards. The TTP Award will be managed by Athletics Australia and supported by the Athletics NSW.

The new NSW athletics Pathway

The NSW Athletics Partnership entails Little Athletics NSW (LANSW) and Athletics NSW (ANSW) delivering the first entirely unified and single Athletics offering in NSW in 56 years and has three main components. A single Affiliation structure A single Membership offering A single Championship and Events pathway open to all participants in the NSW Athletics community. The NSW Athletics Partnership ensures the removal of duplicated membership costs and administration processes

Treloar Shield

The Treloar Shield - Round 1 is on this coming weekend! Please note the following information and distribute to the eligible members: Event date: Saturday 14th October Location: Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre On time entries: Close Wednesday 11th October, 12pm Late entries: Close Wednesday 11th October, 11:59pm but will incur a $10 late fee.

The Summer Athletics Season finishes with a Bang

One of South Sydney Senior Athletics Club members Joseph Mechreki finished off the summer Athletics season on a high . Joseph who was competing at the Australian Nationals in Queensland, finished 1st in the under 13 Hammer Throw Event.

Winter Season Calendar

Athletics NSW is anticipating to release the Winter Calendar by early February 2023. The Winter Calendar involves a number of walking, running and cross country events for participants of all standards and ages.

The Athletics NSW Summer Season 2022/23 has now launched.

The Summer 2022/23 Calendar is segmented into four tiers of competition, which will appeal to every athlete regardless of age or ability. Athletics NSW has developed this calendar with significant consultation with each event group across 2022, and this Summer Season has been a joint contribution from our community and Athletics NSW.

New season New Opportunities

After being out in the wilderness for two years due to Covid, so to speak, South Sydney Senior Athletics Club (Inc) is looking forward to breathing new vitality, into our historic club. To this end we are looking forward, not only to gaining new club members , we are also looking to the future and reaching out to those who would also like to become committee members, club member and volunteers ?

2022 Australian Summer of Athletics to culminate in Sydney

The 2022 Australian Summer of Athletics will come to an impressive peak in Sydney, with Athletics Australia and Destination NSW today confirming that Sydney Olympic Park will host the Australian Track and Field Championships once again. The Championships had been scheduled for Perth , and Athletics Australia had worked with the West Australian Government, through Tourism WA to secure this event in WA however due to border closures this will not happen

Groups of 20 Permitted for Community Sport and Club Training

This morning the NSW Office of Sport has clarified on their website that from today (Monday, October 11): "The Public Health Order states that people can outdoor sport and exercise at gatherings in groups of up to 20. This figure includes participants, coaches and support staff and spectators/parents."
