Competition rules:
1. Seven players on the field (maximum four adult male players).
2. Minimum age of players is nine years; an adult is defined as a player over 16 years as of January 1st 2025.
3. Modified rules for this competition
a. This is a push comp only - no hitting allowed.
b. Overheads are not permitted.
c. Only four players are permitted to defend a short corner with the push-out from the intersection of the circle and the backline
d. Penalties for a foot or backstick in front of goal, where it is clear without the infraction the ball would have crossed the line and no other player could have prevented it, should be upgraded to a penalty goal.
4. Dangerous, aggressive or highly physical play will be discouraged in this competition.
5. Maximum one goal per adult; maximum three goals for players aged 16 years and under.
6. Each game has four ten minute quarters, with a two minute break.
Scoring for games - 3 points for a win, 2 points for a draw, 1 point for a loss, 0 points for a forfeit.
7. Teams are required to provide umpires in all matches as indicated by the draw.
8. The competition winner will be determined by a first past the post system. That is the team on the top of the ladder at the end of the season. Teams will be ranked by points, then goal difference, goals for, and if still even by agreement of the tied team captains a deciding match.
9. In the case of bad weather, notification of game cancellation will be messaged to each captain and a notice placed on the Young Combined Hockey Association Facebook page. Games missed due to weather will be registered as a 0-0 draw for both teams.
10. The first aid kit is located in the canteen with ice packs stored in the freezer.

12. Hockey meetings are held monthly. It is required that each team has members present to keep up to date with pertinent information.
