WYC is supporting Emma Kille on her quest to become a Duke of Edinburgh Award recipient. Emma has chosen sailing as her new skill to learn. The program not only focuses on Skill development, but also Community-based volunteer work, and two adventurous journeys.

WYC’s Discover Sailing Principal, Samantha Bailey is providing training and mentorship to Emma along with her younger sister Ashley, who is learning to sail independently.

Heading into the Tasmanian winter months will require commitment with a range of skills learnt ranging from yacht set up, weather understanding, launching/retrieving, and basic sailing manoeuvres. 

Both Emma and Ashley have made an outstanding start to their learn to sail journey and we are excited to see the talent the two can bring to WYC in the future.
