Wynyard Yacht Club

Wynyard is a small town on the North West coast of Tasmania and has a population of around 5,000.

Like the town, WYC is a small and friendly club that promotes a safe and fun approach to sailing and other water activities.

We partner with the Kayak Club, Surf Life Saving Tasmania / Volunteer Marine Rescue, Marine and Safety Tasmania, and local schools and community groups to promote water sports to everyone.

The club has conducted many States and National Championships over the years and produced its share of champion sailors.

WYC is an accredited Australian Sailing Discover Sailing Centre and conducts Tackers, Discover Sailing, Start Sailing and Start Racing training as well as delivering Marine and Safety Tasmania (MAST) powerboat license training.

Inclusion and enjoyment for all is a big theme at WYC and as such, we run a great Sailability programme throughout the year enabling people with disabilities and the aged to enjoy sailing and being on the water.
