Meet Our President: Marcus Carney
Marcus Carney brings over 15 years of experience in wrestling, coaching, and competing at both national and international levels, including the 2014 Commonwealth Games. His extensive background and achievements in the sport have made him a respected figure in the wrestling community. Beyond the wrestling arena, Marcus, along with Nadege, owns and operates 'Carneys Training,' a family business dedicated to providing disability support services. His dual commitment to excellence in wrestling and his community-focused business underscores his leadership and dedication, making him an invaluable asset to Wrestling Western Australia and a role model within the wrestling community.


Meet Our Vice President: Dyota Tanuwibawa
Dyota has been an integral part of the wrestling community since he began his journey with the Subiaco Tigers in 2019. His dedication and passion for the sport quickly led him to serve on the Wrestling Western Australia (WWA) board from 2020 to 2022. Currently, Dyota channels his expertise into coaching the kids' class at Subiaco, nurturing the next generation of wrestlers. Beyond the mat, Dyota is a skilled data analyst and a proud father to a rapidly growing six-month-old baby. His multifaceted life and commitment to wrestling make him an invaluable asset to Wrestling Western Australia and the broader community.


Meet Our Secretary: Daniel Carrigg
Daniel Carrigg serves as the dedicated Secretary for Wrestling Western Australia. His wrestling journey began with the Fremantle Sharks, where he competed from 2007 to 2009, earning multiple national championships during that period. After a short 13-year hiatus, Daniel made a return to the sport in 2023 and is currently training with the Fremantle Sharks Wrestling Club. Outside of wrestling, Daniel is deeply committed to health and fitness and works professionally as an electrician. His blend of athletic prowess and professional expertise makes him an invaluable member of our team.


Meet Our Treasurer: Amy Teo
Amy Teo has been a passionate and active participant in both wrestling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) for many years. She currently hones her skills at Scrappy MMA, where she continues to excel and contribute to the martial arts community. Outside of her athletic pursuits, Amy is a dedicated business manager, bringing a wealth of professional expertise to her role as Treasurer. Her dual commitment to the sport and her professional career makes her an invaluable asset to our board and the broader wrestling community.


Meet WWA Board Members

Alister Yong

Alister is a dedicated wrestling coach at Drillich Fight Academy. With a wealth of experience and a passion for developing talent, Alister plays a crucial role in shaping the skills and careers of aspiring wrestlers. His commitment to excellence and his deep understanding of the sport make him an invaluable member of our board.

Nadege Anderson 
Nadege has been a WWA board member since 2022. She is experienced in Community Engagement, Service Development and Project Management. Passionate about inclusion, values driven leadership, equity and social justice – Nadege has taken these passions into her company, which she co-founded alongside Marcus where they work to support people with disability to find meaningful employment, and social and economic inclusion in their communities. She would like to increase participation of diverse communities in wrestling. 

Tara Farrace
Tara Farrace is the proud mother of a junior wrestler at Scrappy MMA. Her involvement in the wrestling community extends beyond her support for her child; she brings a unique perspective and a strong commitment to the development of young athletes. Tara's passion for the sport and her dedication to nurturing the next generation of wrestlers make her a valuable asset to our board.

Acknowledgment and Thanks to Outgoing Board Members: Chris Butler and David Barns
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Chris Butler and ex-president David Barns for their exceptional service and dedication to the Wrestling Western Australia (WWA) board. Both Chris and David have served multiple consecutive terms, playing pivotal roles in establishing the strong foundations upon which our board stands today.

Chris Butler's unwavering commitment and contributions have been instrumental in driving the growth and success of our organization. His expertise and passion for the sport have left and continue to leave lasting impact on the wrestling community.

David Barns, as our former president, has been a guiding force in shaping the vision and direction of WWA. His leadership and tireless efforts have been crucial in building a robust and thriving wrestling community in Western Australia.

We are deeply grateful for their invaluable service and the legacy they leave behind. Their dedication and hard work have set a high standard for future board members, and their contributions will continue to inspire and guide us as we move forward.
