2018 – CADET, JUNIOR, SENIOR & VETERANS NATIONALS OF WRESTLING

GENERAL INFORMATION:

The Tournament will take place on: 6th October 2018 at Craigie Leisure Centre (751 Whitfords Ave, Craigie, WA, 6065)

PARTICIPATION:

For Cadets, Juniors, Seniors and Veterans - any club or individual members that are a member of Wrestling Australia Inc. can take part.
This is an OPEN competition, Australian citizenship is NOT required.

TECHNICAL AND FINANCIAL CONDITIONS:-

The competition fees for Cadet, Junior and Senior Nationals of Wrestling:

The cost of entry is $ 100 for SENIORS and VETERANS and $50 for JUNIORS and CADETS. If a wrestler wishes to enter an additional style or another age division there will be an extra fee of $20.

Late fee of $20 per entry applied to any entry received after Midnight on 1 October 2018.

Late registrations close 12pm on 3 October.

Juniors can compete in Seniors but 18 year old’s require special permission (see last page)

A wrestler’s competition age is the age they become that year, no matter which month their birthday is.

HIGHER AGE CATEGORY

Subject to the limitations advised in the “COMPETITION RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY”, any application to compete in a higher age category and/or higher weight division must be requested on the registration form and must be accompanied by a certificate from a suitable medical practitioner stating that the athlete is physically capable of competing against persons in the higher age category and/or higher weight division.


Permission to compete in the nominated age category or weight division is at the sole discretion of the event organisers.

To be permitted to enter a higher weight division or age category there must also be other entries from persons in that weight/age class for any competition to proceed in that weight/age class, or for any medals to be awarded in that weight/age class.

Please note the following:

14 years and younger cannot apply to compete in a higher weight category 15 year olds may apply to compete as cadets

 

COMPETITION RULES and Conditions of Entry:

  1. All wrestlers are only eligible to compete if they are a member of a Constituent Association, irrespective of whether their relevant Wrestling Club is a member of a Constituent Association of Wrestling Australia Inc.

  2. All competitors are required to be a financial member of their State Association AND

    Wrestling Australia Inc.

  3. All competitors are responsible for their own medical and physical fitness to wrestle and understand that the nature of the sport of wrestling involves some physical risks that can result in serious injury or death. It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure they are free of skin lesions or allergies and is fit to compete.

  4. Competition will be conducted in accordance with UWW Rules; draw will use a modified pairing system.

  5. Weight Categories are set to current UWW Rules. All competitors must make weight within these categories.

  6. Proof of Age, satisfactory to Wrestling Australia Inc., is required for all competitors. (Copy of

    Original Birth Certificate or Passport is required with entry form). These forms are required to be

    submitted to the organizers NSW Wrestling Association prior to the closedown date

  7. Competitors in the Cadets and Juniors - under 18 years of age must have the application form

    duly signed by their parent/guardian.

  8. Special consideration will be given for entries wishing to compete in a higher age categories

    provided that the entry form is accompanied with the “Application to compete in a higher Age category form” (see last page) and doctors certificate and that the application has been duly signed by their parent/guardian (where applicable) and the athletes coach and State president. â€¨
    The organisers will have the sole discretionary decision.

  9. I agree to comply with the Wrestling Australia Inc. code of conduct during this competition.

  10. The Australian Sports Drug Agency (ASADA) may conduct Drug Testing during the competition.

    ASADA may also conduct out of competition testing at any time. If requested by ASADA to undergo drug testing, the competitor must comply with the request.   11. I have read and understood the “Competition Rules and Conditions of Entry” and confirm that in consideration of acceptance, by the Wrestling WA, of this my application to enter this event, I intend to be legally bound hereby for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators and any such persons, to waive and release the organizers, the committee of the United Wrestling Club, their agents, members and any bodies or individuals having any association with this championship from any and all claims or rights to damages for injuries or losses suffered by me directly or indirectly in training for, traveling to or from, competing in or attending these Championship.

  12. Wrestling WA needs to promote itself to the community at large, just like any other organization. I thereby authorise the Wrestling WA, and any person authorised by them, to reproduce, publish, broadcast or do any of the acts comprised in the copyright subsisting in: Photographic picture, Videotapes (with or without sound), Production stills and Voice recording.
