In what is expected to be another incredible event, the Apex Freestyle Wrestling Cup will be held on Saturday March 12th as part of APEX Sports Fest 2 at Norwood Oval. The event will include more than a dozen combat sports holding competitions and demonstrations, including Brazilian Jujitsu, Mixed Martial Arts, Muay Thai, boxing, medieval battles and much more.
Gates open at 11 AM, with our wrestling competition kicking off at noon. The wrestling is expected to be completed by late afternoon, but the APEX Sports Fest action continues until approximately 10 PM.
Note that all SA Health guidelines will be strictly followed to keep the event COVID-safe. COVID Marshals will be patrolling all areas advising spectators on social distancing and hygiene. To ensure contact tracing requirements are met, registrations and spectatator ticket purchases are expected to be made online.
Competition registration fees are:
- Wrestling SA Adult members $40
- Wrestling SA School age members $20 (log in and use discount code: Apex50)
- Non-members $85 - including 12 months membership of Wrestling SA (discounted by $20) and one month of free training at Wrestling Academy SA. Register with Wrestling SA here, then register for the competition using discount code: Apex50
- Wrestling Australia members $60. Register as per non-member (as above) and then a $25 partial refund will be processed.
Competitors that register for the wrestling competition do not need to purchase a separate event entry ticket. Spectators must purchase a ticket from the event organisers; a standard ticket is $65 for adults and $35 for juniors for a long day of top entertainment. Spectator tickets can be purchased online from here. However, half price spectator tickets will be made available through Wrestling SA for the immediate family of competitors.
