NATIONAL WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIPS 2021
GENERAL INFORMATION:
The Tournament will take place on 16th May at the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence, 166-180 George St, Redfern NSW 2016
Entry and weigh-in: 7:30am
The competition commences: 9:30am
PARTICIPATION: For Cadets, Juniors, Seniors, and Veterans - any club or individual members that are a member of Wrestling Australia Inc. can take part.
Any athlete that competes in the Senior age class must have completed 2 Sports Integrity Australia online courses:
A completion cerificate is to be sent to admin@wrestling.com.au
This is an OPEN competition, Australian citizenship is NOT required.
FEES: The competition fees for Cadet, Junior, and Senior Nationals of Wrestling:
The cost of entry is $70 for SENIORS, VETERANS, JUNIORS, and CADETS.
Wrestling Australia LTD will be applying a 75% Discount Code for the event.
Type in the discount code 'Nationals2021' in the payment part of registration.
If a wrestler wishes to enter an additional style or another age division there will be an extra fee of $20.
Age Categories
Cadets 16-17 years (from 15 with medical and parental certificate)
Juniors 18-20 years (from 17 with medical and parental certificate)
Seniors 20 years and older
Veterans 35 years and older
Wrestlers in the junior age category are allowed to participate in the competitions for seniors if they reach 18 years old in the concerned year. However, they must provide a medical certificate and parental authorization if they still not reach 18 years old at the date of the competition.
A wrestler’s competition age is the age they become that year, no matter which month their birthday is. 2021 Nationals Championships details and entry forms Page 4 of 10 HIGHER AGE CATEGORY Subject to the limitations advised in the “COMPETITION RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY”, any application to compete in a higher age category and/or higher weight division must be requested on the registration form and must be accompanied by a certificate from a suitable medical practitioner stating that the athlete is physically capable of competing against persons in the higher age category and/or higher weight division. Permission to compete in the nominated age category or weight division is at the sole discretion of the event organisers. To be permitted to enter a higher weight division or age category there must also be other entries from persons in that weight/age class for any competition to proceed in that weight/age class, or for any medals to be awarded in that weight/age class.
