Unfortunately, due to the ongoing COVID travel restrictions around the country we’ve been forced to cancel the 14U Development Tournament scheduled for the first week of the September school holidays. All state associations who had originally expressed interest have now said they’re unable to come.

WPTAS acknowledge the effort and time invested by the state training squads and we are very proud of the commitment and improvement shown by everyone.

We’ll still provide state squad training sessions and urge players continue to attend these as well as swim training and not to lose heart or focus. We are excited by the talent that is developing and can use this time to strengthen and prepare for the next competition available to us.

On that front, we are looking for opportunities to get practice games and potentially use a few days in the proposed week of the competition to run some games and longer training sessions. The coaches and I will discuss this over the coming week and will advise of any plans.
