The Bendigo Region Women's Shed (BRWS) became a registered Charity on 30 August 2023 and has been has been endorsed under the A Community Shed category of deductible gift recipient, with effect from 7 November 2023.

These registrations have been the culmination of months of work by the Committee of Management and opens up a wider range of organisations that BRWS can apply to for funding. The aim is to raise sufficient funds to be able to afford a shed of our own.

Deductible gift recipient (DGR) enables individuals to donate to BRWS and in return receive a receipt that can be used as a deduction from donor's income tax. All amounts $2 and over are eligible. Donors are able to be recognised, but are not eligible to receive any items in exchange for the donation.

The Committee of the BRWS hope that these endorsements will enable them to fulfill the founders' dream of building a shed for the women of Bendigo sooner.
