Life long sailor, long term servant of the sailing club, past chairman and marina company treasurer, and inaugural recipient of the Rick James Spirit of Sags award, Rob Hyland would have turned 70 on October 9 were he not so regrettably taken from us just four months ago.

To honour Rob's memory and to commemorate the immense ammount of work and energy he put into creating an identity for the sailing club, the race on the first Sunday in October will henceforward be known as The Rob Hyland SAGS Race. 

Rob's wife Jenny has graciously provided a special prize for the event, and at her insistance Rob's yacht, Pure Logic, manned by her loyal crew, will participate in the race.

Please come along and make this a day to remember as we create a new chapter in the unfinished story of The Wynnum Manly Sailing Club.
