Congratulations to the 2019 Club Champions, Fred Cramer and Paul Aroney and their yacht Ella

After the changes to our racing calendar, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the WMSC Club Championship will be awarded to the best performing WMSC yacht over best 6 of 8 races:

• Wynnum Manly Inshore Regatta (WMIR) races 1 and 2.
• Two Manly Combined Clubs (MCC) series races
• Two SAGS races, with spinnakers allowed
• St. Helena Cup (SHC) races 1 and 2.

Skippers are invited to register their participation

Yachts entered in either Mono or Multi divisions will be eligible for points.

• The objective is to encourage more WMSC sailors to participate in club racing beyond SAGS.  Yachts will receive credit in SAGS with same score as they achieved in championship events, so their standings in SAGS will not be compromised.
• Scoring will reflect each yacht’s performance against all yachts competing in their division, as determined by combined club series and SHC organizers.
• Scoring will use the “0-100” see below
• Scoring will drop the worst 2 results of the 10 races.
• There is no additional cost  for entering the  WMSC Championship (other race entry fees still apply)

 Point Scoring Rules

• Calculation of points for each race  is calculated using the formula 100 / (fleet size +1) * placing.
• DNF: 100; DNS: 110; DNC: 120.
• Points depend on fleet size and can be clearly seen here
• Compensation for SAGS competitors

Points awarded for the Championship will also be allocated to regular SAG’s participants for the SAG’s race of the same day. (ie there is no disincentive to SAG’s fleet sailors to join MCC  Sunday races.
