The Whyalla Hockey Association (WHA) consists of four member clubs: Hummock Hill, Steel City, Stuart and Waratah. The WHA was established in the 1990's as a result of a merger between the Whyalla Men's Hockey (1968) and the Whyalla Women’s Hockey Associations (1945). The Association has a mandate to promote and foster the sport of Hockey in the local community of Whyalla. The WHA actively works towards creating a sustainable sport and facility in Whyalla through organising a variety of hockey competitions and development squads as well as engaging in a proactive process of asset management projects.

Hummock Hill was established in 1977 and offers teams in the following competitions:
- Men's and Women's A and B Grade
- U7's, U10's, U13, U16.

Steel City Hockey Club - Established in 1977
All players and familes are welcome to join our family club. We welcome all ages and pride ourselves as having a family and socialy orientated club atmosphere. Teams compete in the following age groupings:
- Men's and Women's A Grade
- Men's and Women's B Grade
- Under 16's Boys competition
- Under 13's Girls and Boys competitions
- Under U10's mixed competition
- Under 7's mixed competition
- Come and Try for beginners - all ages

Club training times
Training is held at the Whyalla Hockey Association playing complex located at the corner of Nicolson Avenue and Searle Street.
- Under 7's and Under 10's – Monday 5:00 pm to 5:45 pm
- Under 13's and Under 16's – Monday,s 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm
- Seniors – Thursday's 7:00 pm to 8:15 pm
- NO TRAINING during School Holidays

Waratah Hockey Club

Waratah Hockey Club is the oldest hockey club in Whyalla, Est. in 1943. Very family orientated club, welcoming players of all ages and abilities.
We offer teams in the following competitions
- Under 7's, Under 10's, Under 13's, and Under 16's, boys and girls
- Senior Men and Women (A and B grade)
- Come and Try option available
Club training days
- Tuesday 4-4:45pm for Under 7's, Under 10's, and Under 13's
- Tuesday 6:30-7:30pm for Under 16's and Senior Grades
