COVID-19 - Important Notice
2020 HOCKEY TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
A letter to the Whyalla hockey community
On Wednesday, 18/3/20, the Board of Hockey SA agreed to postpone the start of all hockey competitions and activities (which includes training) in South Australia commencing immediately. This decision has not been made lightly, and we understand that it will deeply impact the association, clubs and the hockey community.
What does this mean for the Whyalla Hockey Association (WHA), the sport and the member clubs here in Whyalla?
At this moment the Whyalla 2020 hockey season has not been cancelled, however this is a rapidly changing public health emergency and with Hockey SA we will continue to monitor the situation closely with SA Health, other relevant agencies and organisations to ensure we have access to the latest advice on how to keep our staff, the hockey community and the public safe.
It is important to note that the season is not being cancelled. The WHA will liaise with the four clubs in relation to the modelling and thinking in getting viable hockey competitions operating in 2020, after the postponement has been lifted from Hockey SA.
No club or members of any club will be allowed to use the turf or facilities until further notice.
If any member has any questions or concerns, please direct them to your clubs committee.
