Ruru Adventure Race

WHO are donating $500 to the “ Friends of Motu Matakohe/Limestone Island Society” as part of the proceeds from the RURU adventure race held in November. Many thanks to all the volunteers, land owners, donations and participants that made this such a successful event.

Summer Series

I will be posting the dates and start locations of the summer series on the website shortly. First event Thursday 13 February.  We will again be using maprun with a standard format of 60 minutes and 20 available controls of equal point value. Registration from 5.30pm, Course Closure 7pm. For ONZ indemnity cover of our events, we do need everyone to register their names, something that has been missing over the years with team names and non de plumes being registered.

For 2025, to make our events more sustainable, to encourage learning for our newer members and really to help “spread the load”, we will be asking everyone to offer to help support one winter event in some way. In the new Year I will publish the list of winter events, locations, primary organiser and seek responses from people to align with one of the events with some form of help, be it with the registration and set up process on the day, collecting controls, helping to set the controls out or whatever might be required to deliver a successful event.

Enjoy the summer break and hope to see you all again in 2025
