Adult Learn to Sail program in dinghies.  Whitsunday Sailing Club has a fleet of RS Quests which are used to provide an introduction to sailing for adults - 14 years and upwards.  The course will run over 4 days, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

The program is conducted in dinghies to give participants the best overview of the art of sailing.  Participants can expect to get wet while sailing, and will definitely do so as capsize and recovery is part of the course.  

Participants will need suitable footware and a change of clothes plus the usual hat, sunscreen and water.  Cost is $210.00 for the4 day course. 

It is a requirement that each participant becomes a member of Whitsunday Sailing Club (Membership is additional cost). A special Learn to Sail membership is available for $75.00, which entitles the participant to club membership up to 30 June 2021 as well as personal accident insurance while participating in sailing at the club.  Non members are required to complete and submit a membership application form below.  An email will be forwarded once membership has been finalised, with details which will allow you to register for the course.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a dinghy. All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Sailing 1 And Start Sailing 2 completion certificate. 

 

We recognise that some of our course participants are completing the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award and may be using sailing and/or club membership to complete one or more sections of The Award. To learn more, click here
