This represents a new era of growth and development for the zone with an eye on the future. WestVic and the partner associations are excited to offer this opportunity to the Eagles Community and invite your early expression of interest. With 12 hours of tailored programing for both boys and girls and training for our coaches, this promises to be an exciting event. With sessions being held in Ballarat, Warrnambool & Hamilton, you have the opportunity to Learn Local and Stay Local, no travel or early morning,

Right now, we are taking player registratins right now, with coach and umpire EOI to follow through each Association. The cost of the Academy is expected to be $90, whcih will be invoiced seperately once we have the Head Coach appinted and a better idea of the inclsuions. At the very least each participant will recieve a training polo, whcih can also have your name on the back of it.

Academy session dates will be confirmed by each association in the coming weeks as we define the program. It is expected that sessions will be conducted in February in the leadup to the 2025 season.

What is it:
The program is focused on the skill development of players across the Eagles zone. WestVic Hockey, which is the Eagles Representative Club for those wanting to play in the metro comp, are launching a regional learning academy together with Hockey Victoria and the Zone Associations to develop players aged 11 to 18, coaches, and umpires to enhance hockey performance on and off the field.

For the Players:

• Tailored Boys & Girls training sessions.
• Open to players with a minimum of 12 months experience, aged 11 to 18.
• A structured program delivered at your local venue, with your friends and teammates, with a focus on the skills and concepts players need.
• Goalkeeper development program built into the delivery with a dedicated coach.
• 12 Hours of tailored hockey and personal development delivered locally in Ballarat, Warrnambool & Hamilton.

For the Coaches:

• 1:1 development and coaching by the Academy Lead Coach.
• Dedicated zone Goalkeeper coach working with each venues local coaches.
• Work with our head coach to develop your coaching through the program at your local venue

For the Umpires:

• With game day sessions, you will get to develop your umpiring with coaching focused on your needs. Supportive local lead coaches who can assist you in your umpire pathway, qualifications and experience.
