As storm clouds gathered on the horizon and the warm north-westerly breeze started gusting more strongly, the fleet headed out past the reef for the start of the 4th heat of the Commodore's Cup. Just getting to the start proved tricky with Andrew Hil and Colin Franke both taking a swim.
Once the racing got underway the contest was close as competitors picked their way through the reef and negotiated the swinging and gusty winds. Vincent Cross and Will Fleming briefly led the catamarans until a gust capsized them. Meanwhile Colin Franke kept his Impulse scooting along and in the end he came out the clear winner.
