The forecasts leading up to Sunday February 19 were dire, light winds if any at all.  The rescue boats packed extra tow ropes.  Sunday morning arrived and Western Port was glassy.  A number of registrants advised they would not be coming to the start line, many more decided the half marathon was as far as they could go.   But as the start time of 11:00 drew near, our south westerly arrived at a perfect 10-15 knots and 70 boats and boards hit the start lines at Flinders, Merricks and Westernport Yacht Clubs to kick off the 2023 Yachting Western Port Montalto Marathon.  

After a brilliant day on the water, a few disqualifications for those who inadvertanly took a short cut and a handful of time penalties for those who hit the start line early or misread the sailing instructions and sailed the wrong side of a mark, we now have some results as follows:
