Celebrating Dedication: Sub Club Service Awards Night
On Sunday, December 1, 2024, Wenty Leagues Sporting Sub Clubs gathered for a special evening of recognition at the Annual Sub Club Dinner. This remarkable event celebrated the achievements of long-serving committee members who have made exceptional contributions to their respective clubs.
The night was made even more special by the presence of Stuart Clark and Maddy Proud, who shared their inspiring journeys. as well as a special highlight with Club Vice President and Life Member Rob Spooner celebrating our Squash Club’s 60th Anniversary delivering a presentation to all the members on what was a truly remarkable celebration on 1st June.
Honouring Wenty Leagues Squash Club Service
As part of this celebration, the Wenty Leagues Club proudly acknowledged five exceptional members who have shown exceptional commitment over the years. These Service Awards honour committee members with 15 or 25 years of continuous service in an official capacity.
Congratulations to our recipients:
· Ken Darke (Posthumous) – 15 Years of Service
A founding member of the Squash Club in 1964 and Life member, Ken served in many leadership roles, including President and Patron. His daughter Tracey accepted the award on his behalf.
· Elwyn Griffiths (Posthumous) – 25 Years of Service
Elwyn, a Life Member, was a vital leader as Club Captain and President for over 27 years. His wife Maree accepted the award in his honour.
· Rhonda Rumble – 15 Years of Service
A Life Member and dedicated Treasurer for 17 years, Rhonda provided financial stability during her tenure.
· Chris Mitrovich – 15 Years of Service
A member since 2004, Chris has served as Club Captain and Vice-Captain, overseeing Pennant Competitions and Club Championships.
· Wendy Fox – 15 Years of Service
A creative force since 2001, Wendy is a Life Member and has been Club Captain & Vice Captain as well as instrumental in event coordination, administration, and even designing the club's sportswear.
These five outstanding members symbolize the heart and soul of Wenty Leagues Squash Club.
