Social Night 1.0 24 July 2024

Published Thu 25 Jul 2024

First of all, congratulations to everyone who was part of WLSC history and played in our Inaugural WLSC Social Night 1.0.

What a great response! Our 3rd straight SOLD-OUT Social Event with a full house of 36 players.

We had a TOTAL of 8 debutants (1st timers attending a Social Event). They were Clive Aviet, David Mylonas, Graeme Mitchell, Jagadeesh Virothi, John Granata & Ryan Schatz. Plus 2 new members to our club, Susan Blackbourn and returning after a few years away, Jim Farrell.

The Social Event format is a crazy one where every player gets 3 matches in just 2 ½ hours, hopefully against someone they've never played before. Yep, very chaotic but lots of fun!

This Social Night, we re-introduced the single-dot yellow ball for ALL matches and adjusted ther handicap system as an initiative to encourage more rallies and less “3-shot squash”.

The winning prize was presented by Social Day 5.0 winner Cole Wells. Peter re-joins the WLSC Social Day “Hall of Fame” along with previous winners Anne Bennett, Gillian Kirby & Yeu Pham.

The traditional Social Event group photo will be featured in the Nov / Dec / Jan edition of the Wenty Leagues Journal and so thanks to everyone for wearing the WLSC playing shirt.

Thank you to all Pennant players and friends for supporting the event. But most of all, thanks for playing the game in the right spirit and having fun. Hopefully, you met someone new and made another friend, and really that’s the purpose of Social Day.

We look forward to seeing everyone back again for Social Day 6.0 on Sunday 13 October 2024.

Cheers,

John Musumeci WLSC President
