Member’s Update – March / April 2025

As part of our Annual Presentation Night celebrations, I shared a Member’s Update reflecting on recent highlights and outlining what lies ahead for Wenty Leagues Squash Club in the first half of 2025.

Sub Club Committee Recognition – 1 December 2024

The Wenty Leagues Sub Clubs Dinner, held in the Starlight Room on 1 December 2024, was a tribute to the tireless work of volunteers across all sports clubs under the Wenty Leagues banner. The evening featured over 200 attendees and a great atmosphere.

We're proud to share that five of our Wenty Leagues Squash Club members were formally recognised for long-term committee service:

• Ken Darke – 15-Year Award (accepted by his daughter Tracie, presented by Director Jody Manson)
• Marie Griffiths – accepted the 25-Year Award on behalf of her late husband, Elwyn Griffiths
• Rhonda Rumble – 15-Year Award (presented by Director Jody Manson)
• Chris Mitrovich – 15-Year Award (presented by Director Laurie Capovilla)
• Wendy Fox – 15-Year Award (presented by Director Rob Pritchard)

Congratulations to all five inaugural recipients for your dedication and service to our club!

SportyHQ Update & New Club Email

Despite earlier signs that SportyHQ was being phased out, we’ve received confirmation from Squash NSW that the platform will continue to operate for the Autumn 2025 Pennant. The transition to RevSPORT is still in progress.

Our club email has also been updated to make communication simpler:

Our 2025 Events Calendar is live and available for download from the Events Page on our website. This page is always up to date with:

• Event details
• Registration links
• Attendee lists

The system takes care of everything—payments, receipts, and sign-ups—saving our admin team (especially our Treasurere Danny!) loads of time.

Upcoming Events (April – June 2025)

Here’s what’s ahead for WLSC:

• 🗓️ Social Night 2.0 – Wednesday, April 23
  A friendly hit in the Easter split round. No pressure, just squash and connection.

• 🏆 Inter Club Challenge (Return Leg) – Saturday, May 17 @ Toongabbie
  We’re calling for 16 players across four divisions. All standards welcome—final selection based on HQ ratings.

• 📋 WLSC Annual General Meeting – Monday, June 2 (Level 1, Leagues Club)
  All committee positions will become vacant. Please consider nominating if you'd like to contribute.
  Supper and drinks provided + discounted Spring Pennant fees for attendees.

• 🎾 Autumn Pennant Grand Final Night – Wednesday, June 25 @ Northmead
  Who will be the finalists? We’ll find out in 12 weeks' time!
