SOCIAL DAY 4.0 22/10/2023

What a great response! This was our 1st SOLD-OUT Social Day with a full house of 36 players featuring 30 Spring Pennant players plus former member Sam Abdallah, and 5 friends of WLSC, Adrian Cook, Joy Connolly, Sam & Tianna Nezar and Sam Aiello.

The Social Day format is such that everyone plays 3 matches in just 2½ hours on 6 courts. Yes, it was a bit chaotic but we made it! This Social Day, we introduced the single-dot yellow ball for matches featuring players with a HQ rating below 800. It was a welcomed initiative that led to more rallies and movement on the court and less “3-shot squash”.

Social Day 4.0 Prize Winners: 1st Yeu Pham (F146 A26 +120), 2nd Tianna Nezar (F146 A40 +106) & 3rd Phi Dao (F136 A43 +93). See the full list of Social Day 4.0 results here. The winning prize was presented by Social Day 3.0 winner Gillian Kirby. Yeu Pham now joins the WLSC Social Day “Hall of Fame” along with former winners in Anne Bennett & Peter Bastow.

The traditional  Social Day group photo will be featured in the Nov / Dec edition of the Wenty Leagues Journal and so thanks to everyone for wearing the WLSC playing shirt. 

Thank you to all Pennant players, family members, and friends for supporting the day. But most of all, thanks for playing the game in the right spirit and having fun. Hopefully, you met someone new and made another friend, and really that’s the purpose of Social Day.

We look forward to seeing everyone again for Social Day 5.0 to be held on 26 May 2024.
