2023 Australian Indoor Rowing Championships

Saturday 28 October saw Wentworth District Rowing Club participate in the Australian Indoor Rowing Championships. Taking place in our temporary rooms at McLeod oval, 13 competitors. 8 ergs, 2 computers, 2 TV’s, multiple supporters, 36 races and so much fun! Wentworth was amazing.

With some of the athletes only participating in the sport for about 6 months, every single person came home with a personal best or two and some amazing results.

All rowers participated in the 500m, 1000m and relays while one member also did the 2000m.

The club came away from the day with outstanding results given that there were 550 people competing virtually across Australia. In some age groups there were 60+ people, so tough competition. This year we were very lucky to bring home 7 medals, 4 individual and 3 relays, meaning everyone that competed got some bling! Was a great day full of positivity, great morale, support for each other and lots of fun (and pain!!)!
