Welcome to the sport of Radio Controlled Yacht Racing.

Our group is part of the Wallaroo Sailing Club of which we are members.

The sport of RCY is truly international and can be enjoyed on many levels. State, National and World championships being held for the various classes such as the International One Metre, Marblehead, 10R R.C Laser: With the opportunity to create, build, assemble and tune boats and accessories, the game can also be an interesting hobby.

Our aims are simply to be part of a group helping each other enjoy the sport at a base level and the resulting camaraderie.

We are fortunate to have the use of an excellent venue in the Copper Coast Marina. A course consisting of a standard sailing “Olympic” triangle giving all points of sail is set twice a week at times to suit both retirees and working people.

No previous experience or top level boats are necessary as all levels of expertise are catered for.

This is achieved by running handicap races with generous sailing members.

Our race days consist of nine races with two breaks.

Score cards are completed by participants and tallied by dropping the two highest scores and adding the rest by position. eg, First =1, Second=2 and so on; lowest score wins.

Starts are done by a pre-recorded countdown with your boat crossing the line at a given handicap position.
