Club Meeting February

Event information

This event has passed.

Hi Club Members & Guests,

I hope the diving has been great for you all over the past 4 weeks.

This month's speaker is, Deborah Dickson-Smith, owner of Dive Travel company Diveplanit, travel writer, editor, scuba girl and passionate eco-warrior.

Deb took her first plunge over 30 years ago – on the Great Barrier Reef – and was instantly addicted to the underwater world. Deb has since logged over 1000 dives in Australia and overseas. Together with partner Simon, Deb co-founded Diveplanit a little over 10 years ago, with a desire to inspire more people to take the plunge, fall in love with the underwater world and become like-minded ocean advocates.

Defore Diveplanit was established, Deb worked in travel media, and as a specialist travel writer, has managed to travel (and dive) through most of the South Pacific and SouthEast Asia. Deb now uses this experience to design tailor-made dive holiday experiences for her clients at Diveplanit Travel.

Ahead of our planned club trip to North Sulawesi this coming August Deb will talk to us about the North Sulawesi experience, what to expect below and above the waves in this fabulous destination and biodiversity hotspot.

If you are coming along in August, are thinking about coming along or it’s somewhere you might go in the future this is an opportunity not to be missed.

We will also bring you up to speed on a busy summer so far for the club and a busy year ahead in our 70th Anniversary year.

Following the presentation will be the photo competition, events, news and travel.
