SIGN UP FOR ROWING IN 2024-2025

UWABC follows the Rowing WA membership year that runs from October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025. 

UWABC offers a number of membership options to suit your age, ability and goals!

 

Membership Types

Ordinary Membership 

You want to join our Novice, Opens, Masters and or High Performance squad, are 18 years+ old and not a currently enrolled student. 

UWA Student Membership

You want to join our Novice, Opens, Masters or High Performance squad, are 18 years+ old and are a currently enrolled UWA student. 

Other Student Membership

You want to join our Novice, Opens, Masters or High Performance squad, are 18 years+ old and are a currently enrolled at another University (includes WA and Interstate). 

Private Boat Membership

You are a private boat owner and want access to your equipment at anytime but do not wish to join a training squad. You can still register as a competitive rower if you wish to race. Storage and insurance costs are separate to this membership fee. Storage at UWA Boatclub is at the discretion of the Captain.

Coxswain Membership

Available to coxswains for all squads (except Shenton). 

Alumni Membership

Welcome back! You are an ex-UWABC member and want to go out for a paddle but do not wish to join a training squad. Social rows are available Friday evenings, Saturday's and Sunday's. Boats will be available at the discretion of the Captain, but expect anything from 1x's to VIII+'s. Please pay the non-competitive registration when signing up and check the "Alumni only" discount when completing the form. An invoice for the membership fee will be emailed separately after registration.

Social Membership

Happy to stay on land but still want to be a member of the club? Social membership is for you! Get access to club social event pre-sales and member rates. Please pay the temporary registration when signing up and check the "Social only" discount when completing the form.

Junior Membership

If (your child) is a Shenton College rower, then this is the membership for them! Please visit the Shenton page for further detail and information. 

 

Important: You can choose a "Racing Competitive" membership type or a "Non-Competitive" membership type. This only changes the Rowing WA fee you are charged at registration. If you wish to upgrade to competitive down the line, you are welcome to. 

 

Fees

At Registration, the Rowing WA fee is an upfront payment.

  • $118 for Competitive rowers/coxswains (18 years+)
  • $82.50 for Competitive rowers/coxswains (18yrs and under on 31st December 2025)
  • $31.50 for Non-Competitive rowers/coxswains (including Alumni)
  • $52 for Shenton College rowers/coxswains. 
  • $10 for Temporary (Social, Learn to Row & Corporate Rowing)

The membership fee will be sent to you as a separate invoice after registration. Full payment MUST be made by (DATE) or you can not row. A payment plan can be requested (4 monthly payments) by contacting our Registrar.  

Please note that we only charge pro rata on a case by case basis. 

Gym membership is included in Ordinary, UWA Student, Other Student and Private Boat Memberships.

Seat Fees: In 2025, racing competitive members must pre-pay their State Championship seat fees, and be up to date with all other fee payments in order to compete at pennant regattas. This is to reduce the number of overdue/unpaid invoices at the end of the pennant racing season. Coxes do not get charged race fees. Shenton College rowers have seat fees included in membership cost.

How to Register

The term "Member" refers to Rowing WA membership or if you have rowed previously in Australia. 

New Member

  • If you have never rowed before, then proceed with "New Member" 
  • You are most likely signing up for our Novice program or a new Shenton College rower 

Returning Member

  • If you previously rowed at UWABC 
  • If you previously rowed with the Shenton College rowing program
  • If you rowed in school 
  • If you rowed for another club (We will need to initiate a transfer if you haven't with your previous club, please contact our Registrar).
