Hi Everyone,
Who wants to head up to Fraser Island for some diving? We will be diving with Ken. Ken’s boat on Fraser can only take 6 divers. We will take 9 divers on this trip with the plan that everyone will get 2 days of diving. This trip is for Advanced Divers Only.
When: 8th - 12th August
Where: Fraser Island
Cost: TBA We will spilt the cost spent on fuel to cover transporting the compressor, boat fuel and the barge ticket. Car drivers can split fuel amongst their passengers.
Diving
When: Sun 9th, Mon 10th & Tue 11th (weather dependant!)
Where: Shoals, Gardener Banks, Wrecks, Indian Heads (corals, wrecks, big sharks)
We will be doing a Beach Launch each day. Some of the dive sites are approx 21nm from our beach.
Diving: Double dive each day. Each diver will get 2 days of diving.
BYO dive gear, weights & tanks
Accommodation
Where: Ken’s Shed at Orchid Beach
Cost: $100 ($25 per night)
Open plan shed with beds all together in the middle
2 Fridges
Gas cook tops
No Oven
BYO bed linen including pillows
Option to camp in the yard
Food:
BYO Food including lunch to take on the boat.
If everyone wants to do shared dinners, we can sort that out later.
Transport
You can only access the accommodation and dive site in a 4WD. It is your responsibility to organise your own transport. If you do have a spare seat and can offer someone a lift, please let me know in the drop down box below.
There is a possibility to get a lift with Ken, but not sure how many he can fit yet.
You will need to organise a vehicle permit to drive up the beach.
We will get to Fraser Island via the Manta Ray Fraser Island Ferry at Inskip Point. No need to book a time but you can purchase your barge tickets in advance.
