The weather looks quite nice for a mid-week trip to Flinders Reef and the surrounding areas.
Flinders Reef is an isolated reef system north of Moreton Island that hosts many coral and fish species including barracudas, surgeon fishes, damselfishes, anemonefishes and the rare mantis shrimp. Corals can include the staghorn, branching, brain, plate and encrusting types.
The plan is to dive at Flinders and surrounds with the good weather forecast, this may mean the opportunity to dive to more advanced sites in the vicinity such as Cementco, Gotham City or Hutchinsons Shoal for one of the dives.
Start: 8 am - Bribie Island Boat Ramp
Finish: 6 - 7 pm
Cost: 2x dive tickets + a share of fuel costs ($25 - $30 depending on the number of divers)
