Lady Musgrave Island camping and diving trip is a biennial highlight for many of us, and I have organised another trip for 2024.

During the trip there is the opportunity to dive on many reefs and bommies that are hardly ever dived, so they are as close to pristine as we get.  Also the opportunity for unlimited snorkelling, Kayaking, SUP'ing in these beautiful waters, and if we're lucky we may see some of the last baby turtles of the season hatch.  There is also the possibility to go fishing offshore at reefs such as Boult Reef, and other reefs to the east of Musgrave.  

Apart from the diving, we have daily "5pm Nibbles & Drinkies", sitting on the beach watching the sunset, chatting about the day's events and planning the next day's events. Plus a couple of group/potluck dinners, Dress-up nights, card games, and lots of other fun.  It really is a fantastic trip.

The itinerary is as follows:

Saturday 27/4/24

9:45am: Arrive/Load @ Curtis Island Ferries, Gladstone

12:15pm: Depart Gladstone (all day on the barge)

9:15pm:  Arrive Lady Musgrave

Set up camp or sleep on the beach.

Sunday 28/4/24

Complete camp set up, go diving, have fun for the next 12 days!

Friday 10/5/24

9:00pm: Load Barge @ Musgrave

11:00pm: Depart Musgrave (overnight on the barge)

Saturday 11/5/24

7:00am: Arrive Gladstone

Having learned from previous experience, I have booked the whole island (40 camp sites) from the day before we arrive (ie 26/4) to the day after we depart (11/5), so the campsites will be empty on arrival, and there won’t be people waiting for us to get off the campsites on the day that we leave. I have also booked the entire barge for our use.

Details: You will need to bring your own everything for 13+ days (bringing a little extra ‘just in case’). Tents/tarps, food & drinks, power, all dive gear including tanks & weights. (Speak to previous attendees if you have questions.)

We will only be accepting people who can come to the Island for the duration of the time, ie no part-timers

Costs:

Barge/Water/Camping: max $975 (based on 25 people)**

**The more people we get, the cheaper the cost.. ie: if we get over 30 people the cost should be reduced TBA

Unlimited Diving/Boat/Tank Fills: $225

Kayaks/Canoes/Paddleboards: $50

Deposit:

A Non-refundable deposit for this trip is required as soon as you book: $300 per person, to enable the club to pay the deposit for the Barge/
