The UQ Sport Athletic Centre is once again staging the very popular annual 1500m Classic.

The event is scheduled for the evening of Wednesday the 20th of October 2021. The meet features only 1500m events comprising Race Walking, school-aged, Masters and Open events.

This evening will once again showcase the 1500m Classic for the elite men and women runners. There will be a minimum prize pool of $1200 across the two races.

The UQ Sport 1500 Classic has grown from year to year with 25 races on the program and close to 350 athletes entering across the range of divisions in 2020.

All races will be filmed and uploaded to youtube by the 21st of October

A proposed timetable of races is on the UQ Sport website https://uqsport.com.au/whats-on/1500m-classic/.  After entries close on October 18th the races will  be seeded and a final timetable of races, based on the number of entries, will be generated.  This timetable and race start lists will be posted on the QA and UQ Sport websites, and emailed to all the athletes who have entered, by the afternoon of October 19th.  Guidelines for how the meet will be conducted will also be emailed on October 19th.
