UNSW Hockey Club Gender Diversity Policy
At UNSW Hockey Club, we believe that diversity and inclusion are essential to creating a positive and welcoming sporting environment. We are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive space for all members of our club, regardless of gender or sexual orientation.
Our club values and respects the diversity of all individuals, and we are committed to promoting gender equality in sport. We aim to create an inclusive culture where everyone feels valued, respected, and supported to participate in hockey.
Our Gender Diversity Policy includes the following:
- Equal opportunity and access: We will ensure that all members have equal opportunity and access to participate in hockey, regardless of gender or sexual orientation.
- Gender-inclusive language: We will use gender-inclusive language in all communications and materials to ensure that all members feel respected and included.
- Anti-discrimination and harassment: We will not tolerate any form of discrimination or harassment based on gender or sexual orientation, and we will take appropriate action to address any such behaviour.
- Inclusive facilities and equipment: We endeavour to have facilities that are gender-inclusive and accessible to all members. Where this is not in the club’s control we will support and encourage you to use the facilities that you are most comfortable with.
- Gender diversity education: UNSW Hockey Club endorses the inclusive policies, resources and guidelines from Hockey NSW.
- Inclusivity in decision-making: We will ensure that all members have a voice in decision-making processes, regardless of gender or sexual orientation.
