Junior's Director WelcomeWelcome to the UNSW Hockey Club. Despite being a University Club but we have a large and successful juniors division. Each year we have junior teams in the Sydney Eastern Hockey Association (SEHA) and Metro North Junior Competitions. SEHA Junior Teams - U10s, U12s, U14s, U16s, U18s Metro Junior Teams - U16s, U18s We also have teams for children under 9 years of age who play a modified format of the game. Regardless of whether your child is an experienced hockey player or is looking to try something new the UNSW Hockey Club is the place to be. We have a great family environment with plans for BBQs and social competition activities for children and their friends. I hope you see many new and returning faces at the field in 2025. Teams and TrainingUNSW Junior Hockey Club is the only junior hockey club in the Eastern Suburbs area with a home turf and teams in the mixed boys and girls Sydney East Hockey Association junior’s competition. All our experienced coaches are accredited and comply with formal Working with Children's requirements. Opportunities for representative development pathways are encouraged and nurtured, with a number of members achieving regional, state and Australian representation. The club offers opportunities to get involved in all age groups with skills development training for in preparation for competition fixtures.

Competition fees and DatesThe SEHA junior’s competition starts in April and ends mid-August. Junior’s games are played on either Friday evenings (after 6:00pm) or on Saturday mornings (before 12:30pm). Under 15 and Under 17 teams tend to have games on Friday night, with younger age groups primarily playing on Saturday morning. The draw is flexible to allow for school holidays breaks and the finals series is usually played from mid-August until the end of the month. Active Kids VouchersThe NSW Government is helping kids get active with the Active Kids program. The Active Kids program provides two $100 vouchers for parents, guardians and carers of school-enrolled children to use towards sport and active recreation costs each year. If you’re a parent, carer or guardian, the student will be eligible if they are; a NSW resident aged between 4.5 and 18 years, enrolled in school (from Kindergarten to Year 12, including those who are home-schooled or enrolled in secondary school education at TAFE NSW) and a current Medicare card holder.
