The 2022-23 Indoor season is almost upon us and this year Hockey ACT are launching an exciting new skills-based competition that promises to make the competition even and very exciting.

For those involved in Under 18 Boys, the Elite team draft based structure that delivered a really exciting competition last year is back and is being expanded to include the Girls competition. Players wishing to nominate for that comp do so directly to Hockey ACT (details to come) and not through the club. We would still like to understand which of our players are putting their hand up for this comp so please use the options below as well.

Besides that change, the age group structure for Under 18s to Under 14s has been abolished and replaced with a skill-based competition similar to Senior outdoor. Grades in this part of the comp are labelled JSL 1 through to 4. While there is not expected to be age limits on any of these grades, clubs have flagged concerns around safety relating to an 18 year old playing against an 11 year old so teams will be composed to take this into account.

Finally for those brand new to Indoor hockey, and we hope to see a lot of you this year, the Under 12s competition is specifically for you. It is purely a learning comp for those trying Indoor for the first time to get familiar with the rules and build their skills.

As a totally new structure, getting ready for this competition is going to require a lot of organisation, so to assist in that endeavour we are asking for players and coaches to register their interest using this form. Please note that this is not registration. Details for formal registration will be coming through over the next month as the committee finalises details.
