Looking for an opportunity to get wrecked? Well, the ex-HMAS Adelaide, (formerly an Adelaide class guided-missile frigate was scuttled off Terrigal in 2011 for just this purpose. Large holes have been strategically cut to allow for safe recreational exploration of the entire site.  However, due to the nature of the site, (partially overhead and at 32+ m) it is restricted to Advanced Open Water divers and above. You must also have completed 40 or more dives and dived in the last 12 months.

|| COST ||

$125 – includes 2 nights’ accommodation; meals on Saturday, Sunday (breakfast only) and drinks for the party night! (Drinks will be provided, however those with more discerning tastes are welcome to BYO).

|| DIVING ||

$25 per boat dive (1/3rd of the cost of commercial operators). We are planning for 1 day of diving , 2 boat dives per person on the Saturday, (weather permitting).

Air fills at local dive shops approx. ~$10.

In order to participate in the organised dives, you will need to show us your SCUBA certification card and be competent and confident in your swimming abilities. You should have dived within the past 12 months and be comfortable to dive in a buddy pair without a dive guide (we aren’t a commercial dive shop).   In addition, you must have a minimum  of Advanced Open Water certification and at least 40 dives. 

|| GEAR ||

You are responsible for organising your own gear. BCDs, tanks, regulators, wetsuits, masks, fins and weights are all available to hire from the club through our gear hire portal - https://www.revolutionise.com.au/underwaterclub/gear-hire-. You will need to book, collect, clean, dry and return any hired club gear.

|| GETTING THERE ||

Terrigal is an easy 90 minute drive from Sydney.  However, it is still recommended to avoid travelling in peak hour, because delays are common. 

Everyone is responsible for organising their own transport (including dive gear). Due to COVID-19 we can’t recommend carpooling with people outside your household.

Tickets on sale 7pm Friday 16 April

Bookings for this trip will open at 7:00pm on Friday, 16 April 2021. You will need to be a paid 2021 member to register. Please note that the number of attendees on this trip is limited so be quick to register.  (We suggest setting a reminder on your phone). A waitlist will be opened at 7:10pm on Friday 16 April 2021 for those who miss out in case of cancellations.
