The UNSW Underwater Club is proud to present the annual liveaboard 2019!

**Bookings open at 12 pm Saturday the 3rd of August**

This September the UNSW Underwater Club is taking to the high seas aboard the luxurious MV Kalinda for another week of diving, eating, partying and many games of monopoly deal on the Great Barrier Reef! Our captain, Dave, has been navigating these waters for longer than he can remember and he is going to let us in on his top-secret dive locations. Aboard the Kalinda, we will travel to the most pristine and untouched reefs in the outer Great Barrier Reef marine park. These reefs are home to a plethora of weird and wonderful sea critters, including sea snakes, giant clams, walking sharks, nudibranchs and possibly even (but no promises) whales. If this doesn’t wet your neoprene then we will be finishing the trip with a day diving on the SS Yongala, an unforgettable 110m long shipwreck widely regarded as the best wreck dive in the world. As you will be living on a boat for a week this trip is all-inclusive of meals, accommodation and tank fills all for an unbeatable price of $1250pp.

COST

  • $1250 (Excluding flights)

  • Budget $300 - $400 for flights

WHAT IS INCLUDED

  • 7 nights accommodation onboard the MV Kalinda

  • All meals provided by your personal onboard chef

  • 16 - 20 dives (depending on weather)

  • Diving on the SS Yongala!

  • One day exploring the koala infested Magnetic Island

  • 1 epic all booze inclusive party night

  • Weights and tanks

  • Tank fills

WHERE IS IT

The boat will depart from and arrive back at Reef HQ Wharf, Townsville. You will need to arrange your own transport to and from Townsville.

DATES

8th - 15th of September

We will be departing from Reef HQ wharf, Townsville on the evening of the 8th of September and we will be arriving back to Townsville at 9 am on the 15th of September.

TRANSPORT

Townsville is only a 17 day walk up the road but for those who insist on a more efficient option, I would recommend flying into Townsville Airport before 3 pm on the 8th of September. There will be no diving on the last day of the liveaboard so you will be safe to fly back to Sydney anytime after 11 am on the 15th of September. Shuttles to and from the airport are $10 and Townsville has Uber. Flights from SYD - TSV are direct and around $300 - $400 return.

DIVING QUALIFICATION

This trip is suitable for all divers with an open water cert or above. Please note that If you are an open water diver with little experience you may not be able to dive on certain sites such as the SS Yongala.
