UNSW WHALE WATCHING TOUR 2019
If you've too busy studying or haven't had a chance to get close from the water in a while we've got some big news!
Humpback whales are here! They are currently migrating to the warmer water up north and they can be spotted all along the coast! We're currently at the start of the whale season which means that we have quite some chances to spot them in a couple of weeks (although we can't assure that we will). We'll be meeting up at Rose Bay boat ramp at 11am for the first group and at 1.30pm for the second group and we'll be cruising around for 1.5-2h hoping to get some luck.
WHEN
Saturday 1st of June - 11am and 1.30pm.
If you're keen for a full weekend on the water check out our Long Reef dives on Sundat June 2nd (https://www.revolutionise.com.au/underwaterclub/events/42333/)
WHERE
Sydney Harbour (departing Rose Bay boat ramp).
We will be departing the boat ramp at 11AM / 1.30pm so please be on time.
COST
$30 per boat dive. We'll be burning fuel hence why it's slightly more expensive than usual.
DIVING
No Diving! Sorry.
We won't be able to jump in the water either even if we see whales, dolphins or even a Ryan Gosling looking merman as we don't want to disturb the animal migration and also want to follow the NSW marine protection rules.
WHAT TO BRING
Ok it's the tricky part, depending on the weather that trip could become quite of a wet and cold adventure. That means that it might be bumpy and that your really expensive camera have chances to get wet so if you bring one, bring a dry bag too.
Nothing is compulsory and it's up to you to bring what you want, but please not that you're the only one responsible of your material.
What you could bring:
- Warm rainproof/windbreaker jacket OR i
- You could be wearing your wetsuit if you don't want to get too wet
- Warm clothes
- A dry bag for your belongings (you wouldn't like your phone to get soaked)
- Spare dry clothes
GETTING THERE
We will be launching from the boat ramp Rose Bay. There is parking available at the wharf. Prior to dive we will look to organize car-pooling if required and work out any additional logistics.
BOOKINGS
Bookings will open Thursday 23rd of June - 7pm.
A Waitlist will open at the same time incase if you don't manage to get a spot in time (https://www.revolutionise.com.au/underwaterclub/events/42311/)
