Hey Divers!

This weekend we are taking the Didj out on SUNDAY 16th MARCH for an ADVANCED OPEN WATER double boat dive!

We will be headed out for some exploratory diving at Barrens Hut and the Kurnell Desalination Plant Intakes. 

What are these dive sites I hear you ask? Luckily Michael McFadden has the answer for one!

"Back in the early 1990s when I first wrote this article, if you were to do a poll of a hundred regular and experienced divers in Sydney and asked them the name of the best boat dive site in the Sydney area, I am certain that the a majority would reply "Barrens Hut". Barrens Hut has everything you want in a dive site and really deserves its excellent reputation. It is, in my view, one of the top five reef dive sites in NSW"

As for the Kurnell Desalination Plant intake structure? Well, that's what we're going to find out. Luckily some recent studies seem to indicate an abundance of marine life and some pretty interesting underwater structures to explore.

The plan is to meet at Foreshore Road Boat Ramp Botany, and then get 2 dives in. The boat will be limited to a total of 8 divers as we will be launching with two tanks each to avoid having to go back for a refill.

• Arrive boat ramp - 7:00 am
• Depart - 8:00 am
• Dive 1 - 8:30 am
• Dive 2 - 10:30 am
• Finish 12:00 pm

$80 for 2 x boat dives with 2x full tanks included. 
You will be invoiced (and must pay) in advance.

Desal Intakes and Barrens Hut (TBC depending on conditions)
Pick up will be at Foreshore Road Boat Ramp.

|| Qualification ||

The dive sites are suitable for ADVANCED levels of certified SCUBA divers due to depth.

|| Gear ||

Please come prepared with all your own gear. 
Two full tanks will be provided on the boat.
