Sydney Boat Dive - Long Reef
Event information
The Didj is back!
After an epic journey along the coast of Queensland and NSW, the Didj is finally home.
In celebration of this momentous occasion we are planning a double boat dive in Sydney this Sunday. The plan is to journey up to Long Reef, (one of the best dive sites in Sydney), off Dee Why beach.
Here is Michael McFadyen’s glorious review of Long Reef:
"What a dive!!! I have dived in more than nine countries of the Pacific Ocean, dived coral reefs and the world's best wrecks, but [on Long Reef] I had a dive that rivalled the best offered anywhere in the Pacific. What made this even more amazing was the fact that I could see the centre of Sydney from the dive location. I dived this site a number of times now and all have been excellent."
More info can be found on his website here: https://www.michaelmcfadyenscuba.info/viewpage.php?page_id=339 ).
We will pickup all divers from the boat ramp at Long Reef golf club at 9am sharp.
The plan is to fo 2 dives each with a lunch break in between (please bring your own lunch). Depending on how we like the site it will be either 2 dives at the apartments or one at dee why wide.
Cost is $25 per boat dive (so $50 total if you do a double dive).
Unfortunately the gear room is not yet open, so you will need to bring your own gear or arrange hire at Dive Centre Bondi (tell them you are from UNSW UWC for a discount).
Tanks will need to be filled by you prior to arriving. We recommend getting fills at Dive Centre Bondi ($5 each) or Prodive Coogee ($7 each).
This dive is for all skill levels!
Spots are limited to 11 divers, so register now. Payment will be collected after we have confirmed numbers.
Cheers,
