This course is being conducted by M.A.Dive Sydney for members of the UNSW Underwater Club. It is not being conducted by the UNSW Underwater Club.

Terms and Conditions

1. Booking Deposit

• The booking deposit applies per person and per activity.
• The booking deposit is not refundable.
• The booking deposit is payable within 48 hours of receiving invoice.

 

2. Cancellations:

• Under Australian Consumer Law, M.A.Dive Sydney is not required to provide a refund due to change of mind.
• If weather conditions are not suitable M.A.Dive Sydney will organise to reschedule the course or activity. If you cannot reschedule the course or activity you will be entitled to a refund less the cost of the portion of activity already completed and any learning materials already redeemed by you at the time of cancellation.
• Cancellations more than 14 days prior to course or activity commencement will be refunded less the non-refundable deposit.
• Cancellations made 14-8 days prior to course or activity commencement will be refunded less the non-refundable deposit and a 50% cancellation fee applied to the course or tour cost less deposit.
• Cancellations made within 7 days of course or activity commencement will not be refunded.
• If you do not attend or cancel within the penalty period you will forfeit the full cost of the course or activity.
• M.A.Dive Sydney reserves the right to provide a full refund at its discretion.
• COVID-19: If you are displaying symptoms of COVID-19 or are isolating as a close contact you can reschedule your course or activity at no additional cost, provided you have informed M.A.Dive Sydney within 24 hours of symptom onset or becoming aware of being in contact with a positive case. If you cannot reschedule the course or activity you will be entitled to a refund less the cost of any learning materials already provided to you at the time of cancellation.

 

3. Transfers

• Transferring your course or activity to a friend or family member is allowed up to 24 hours prior to the commencement of the course or activity.
• There is a $25 admin fee per transfer in addition to new eLearning material costs.
• Transfer fees are payable at the time of transfer.
• Redeemed eLearning materials cannot be transferred, and the transferee will need to pay the costs of new eLearning materials.
• The transferee must agree to these terms and conditions.

 

4. Online Study:

• All online study is expected to be completed prior to course commencement. If you do not complete this you will not be able to continue with training and will need to reschedule your course at your own expense as per the normal transfer conditions.
• Online learning materials are non-transferrable and non-refundable.

 

5. Medical Clearance:

• All courses require the completion of a Medical Questionnaire prior to commencement. If you have any medical concerns, please contact M.A.Dive Sydney as early as possible to avoid incurring any fees.
• If you require medical clearance from a physician and fail to gain it before your start date, you will need to reschedule as per the normal transfer conditions.
• In the event of a medical condition permanently preventing you from participating, a credit or refund is available if outside the penalty period, less any fees incurred.

 

7. Flying After Scuba Diving:

• Divers Alert Network (DAN) offer the following guidelines for flying after scuba diving:
  • For a single no-decompression dive, a minimum pre-flight surface interval of 12 hours is suggested. For multiple dives per day or multiple days of diving, a minimum pre-flight surface interval of 18 hours is suggested.
  • If you have symptoms after diving and you are planning to fly (or drive to altitude), we suggest that you call a DAN-supported diving hotline and seek advice prior to doing so. Sometimes symptoms can worsen significantly during or after being at altitude.
  • If you are unable to dive due to an upcoming flight you will need to reschedule as per the normal transfer conditions.

 

8. Boat Dives

• For courses or activities that involve a boat dive, you agree to adhere to the terms and conditions of the boat charter company.
