Holy Hammerhead Batman!! South West Rocks Take 2!!

 

That’s right scuba friends, we are running another trip to one of the most incredible dive sites in NSW!

 

What’s that? Why are we running another dive trip to the amazing South West Rocks when we’ve already been there earlier in the year?

 

Well, let me tell you…

 

1. Because it’s awesome
2. Because it’s one of the most popular club trips and this provides the opportunity for others to come and experience the awesomeness
3. During this exact time of year, a handful of lucky divers were able to catch a migration of hammer head sharks and by golly, I want to see that $h!t..
4. Fish Rock Cave: 125m long cave filled with Grey Nurse sharks and a great variety of marine life
5. A dozen or so other local dive sites all packed with the usual Fish Rock selection of tropical, sub tropical and temperate marine life!

The Grey Nurse shark is an ancient and docile species, but unfortunately is rare and endangered. Fish Rock is one of the few diving sites in Australia where grey nurse sharks can be found all year round.

NOTE: This is a deep, cave dive. You must have your advanced course and 30 logged dives.

*Beds are assigned on a first paid first served basis, If you are not assigned a bed please bring something comfy to sleep on like a sleeping bag, air mattress, tent, or whatever you fancy.

**Please note, trips are planned on a budget and aim to provide basic food and beverage… while we by no means intend to make you starve and generally have more than enough food, if you’re a BIG eater, you may want to bring some snacks or comforts

***Again, budget. Those with highly refined tastes may want to bring a bottle of that something special if you don’t care for the liquor land special finds

 

|| DIVING ||
We aim to cycle through as many dives as possible, hoping for a double dive on Friday, Saturday, and a single on Sunday depending on the epicness of party night

 

Boat Dives: $25 each dive

Intended Sites:

Fish Rock: Numerous sites around Fish Rock including infamous Fish Rock Cave

Green Island: Just off the point of Smokey Cape Lighthouse, a less commonly visited site teeming with marine life

Required:

-Computer

-Dive torch

IMPORTANT: You are responsible for sorting out your own gear.

***note that some items (esp. weights and regs w/computers) are subject to availability***

Standard gear hire policies apply to pick up, drop off, and cleaning the club gear

Bookings will open at 8pm on Thursday Nov. 16th.

Prior to trip we will determine drivers and organize carpooling if you don’t drive
