Event information

This event has passed.

Come along and hone those scuba skills!

This will be a great chance to improve on some fundamental underwater skills that even some of the most experienced divers never practice enough. Part 1 covers:

 • Buoyancy
 • Trim
 • Finning techniques

This is not a certification course or workshop, but a practice day for you and I to become better, safer, and more considerate divers (we'll be practising too). Please try to come with an aim, ie. something you know you'd like to improve.

ALL divers welcome. Goals are personal and depend on your experience and level of skill.

WHEN

Sunday November 26, 8am. I've put 11am as an estimated end time, but we'll wrap up when we get tired.

WHERE

The plan is to meet at Clovelly car park, gear up, and get in the water (we'll move to Camp Cove if the weather turns unfavourably).

GEAR

You are responsible for sorting out your own gear!

Come on time with full gear ready to dive and we'll +1 some skills. If you don't have your own gear, the club has them available to hire for cheap at: https://www.revolutionise.com.au/underwaterclub/gear-hire-portal/. Standard gear hire policies apply to pick up, drop off, and cleaning the club gear prior to timely return.

Bring as many tanks as you like. More tanks = more air. We'll most likely be bringing 2 each for ourselves (as we'll be staying until the last person leaves), but it's totally up to you.

$5 tank fills at Dive Centre Bondi if you mention that you are part of the UNSW Underwater Club.

Slates to write plans and/or Go Pros to film each other with can be a good idea. DON'T FORGET A LANYARD OR CLIP IF YOU ARE BRINGING A CAMERA.
