Learning to sail is like unlocking a secret world of wind whispers and wave dances. It's where you become best friends with the breeze, learning its moods and tricks. From tying knots that sound like magic spells to steering like a pirate captain, every moment is a thrill. Sailing teaches you patience—because sometimes the wind plays hide and seek—and courage when you're steering through choppy waters. It's a bit like mastering a dance with the sea, where teamwork with your crew or boat is key. And oh, the freedom! Imagine flying on water, where every gust is a high-five from Mother Nature herself. So hop aboard, because sailing isn't just a skill—it's a passport to adventure and a whole lot of salty smiles.

Small group of 10 ADULTS pax maximum, with an experienced sailor onboard with you, sailing in either a pacer or corsair dinghy.  This weekend is a great introduction to sailing on the Tweed River in a safe environment.  No previous knowledge necessary.

Starts 9:30 am Saturday 14th September, break for lunch, and then finishing at 3:30 pm. Sunday - repeat!

No skills necessary, but there is a degree of fitness required.  This is dinghy sailing, so you need to be quite agile, as there is a lot of ducking under a boom in a cramped environment and moving quickly across a boat.  Not good for people with dodgy backs or bad knees.  ALSO, you need to be a competent swimmer (even though lifejackets will be provided), and not have a fear of capsizing and the water.

Limit of 10 pax maximum, full payment required to secure your position.  This will include a full year's membership (season commences from 1 October to 30 September each year).

What to bring/wear:  hat, sunscreen, sunglasses (polarised are good, don't bring your best sunglasses as you may lose them if you capsize - you can buy a neoprene sunglass strap for about $5), sun vest and shorts or wet suit pants, water boots (we do have some we can provide) and warm clothes to change into afterwards.  Please note that we do not have hot showers available.   PLEASE BRING PLENTY OF WATER, SNACKS AND LUNCH (LUNCH BREAK 45 MINS MAX).

If you have paid and you cannot attend the weekend, we have the right to not refund you.  The payment INCLUDES MEMBERSHIP FOR THE SEASON, and you will be welcome to come and sail with us on our fortnightly sailing days.
