The RPAYC Discover Sailing Centre is pleased to welcome you to our Club Safety Boat Induction Training for RPAYC Volunteers & Staff.
The induction and registration includes a briefing, which is 30 minutes in length, and the purpose is to introduce and refresh volunteers on the policies and procedures for using RPAYC RIBs for supporting club activities. Volunteers will have an opportunity to practice boat handling, rescue and recovery skills, and driving the vessels onto pontoons with RPAYC staff following the induction.
The training will take place at the RPAYC Jack Gale Centre and the adjacent lawn area, RIB pontoons, and on water. Please bring appropriate gear for training onboard a club powerboat (warm clothing & PFD if you have one).
This seminar will cover the following topics:
- Club vessel policies
- Operation of club safety boats and equipment
- Supporting race management
- Boat handling skills (driving, towing, pontoons)
- Rescue of craft (dinghy, high-performance craft, windsurfer)
- Set up and pack up of vessels
Who should attend this course?
All club volunteers (Yachting, Centreboard & ACS) and instructors who are active in supporting club racing and activities. This briefing is an annual accreditation for all volunteers to participate in, as well as holding an Australian Sailing powerboat certificate.
