Welcome to the Alfreds Discover Sailing & Training Academy! Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club offers training pathways for Kids, Teens and Adults from the beginner stages through advanced racing. Training is delivered by accredited instructors, following the Australian Sailing (AS) training syllabus. We provide a safe, fun, and affordable environment to try sailing.

We are now accepting registrations for training courses and expressions of interest if you cannot find an upcoming course available.

RPAYC 'SailPass' Temporary Membership

By acquiring an Australian Sailing Sail Pass (via RPAYC), racing participants (skippers and crew) will meet the requirements of Australian Sailing's prescription, to Racing Rule 46. An Australian Sailing Sail Pass will also provide racing participants with personal accident insurance cover, for the day/s that they are registered.

This course develops both your theory and practical skills to confidently take control on the helm. You will learn more about the preparation of the boat, helm and trim on all points of sail, recovery of man overboard whilst at the helm.
