Discover Sailing Courses offer a structured way to learn to sail for people new to the sport. You can register for a Discover Sailing Course with no prior sailing experience or you may have already had an opportunity to get out on the water through participating in a Discover Sailing Day or Discover Sailing Experience.

The courses are run by an Australian Sailing accredited qualified instructor in dinghies at the Club’s Pallarenda training facility. The courses cover the following areas:

• Start Sailing 1 – Basic clothing and equipment selection, sailing terminology, boat launch and recovery, capsize recovery in shallow water.
• Start Sailing 2 – Rigging of the boat, capsize recovery in deeper water, sail a triangular course, basic sailing rules and theory.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a dinghy. All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Sailing 1 And Start Sailing 2 completion certificate.
