2024 AUSTRALIA DAY FUN RUN IN CANCELLED!

23 Jan: After receiving the second weather briefing, it is with regret that we must announce the cancellation of all outdoor activities, including the Fun Run event scheduled for Friday, January 26. The safety of participants and the public is our top priority, and the current weather conditions necessitate this decision.

Stay safe and thank you for your understanding.

Make the most of Australia Day this year by being part of Townsville City Council’s Aussie Fun Run event.

Grab your friends or friends and take part in the 5km course that you can run, jog or walk!

The Aussie Fun Run consists of:

A welcome & race briefing at 0630 and  2 starting categories:

a) 0640 Runners and

b) 0650 Walkers/Prams/Pets.

Check in at Jezzine Way East from 0600 for all categories.

There are no road closures, so please run on the path.

Run through Jezzine park to Cook St and The Esplanade (towards Soroptimist Park). U-Turn  onto footpath and run up the boardwalk. Turn Left up to the Kissing Point lookout. Head down the ramp to Jezzine Way East, and clockwise around the rockpool. Continue along the Strand to Strand Park and then clockwise around Strand Park. Return along the Strand. Proceed up Jezzine Way to the finish point.

Cost: gold coin donation on the day . Proceeds and Donations support Brighter Lives Townsville Hospital Foundation, who help our NQ community by brightening the hospital and patient experience at Townsville Hospital and Health Service. 

Presentations at 0745 for the First Male, First Female in both adult and junior catgories, Best Dressed  and Cash & Oddessy Cafe random draw prizes.

 Prize winners MUST be in attendance to collect their prize.

Entertainment: Tony Wood, local guitar/solo artist will be performing.

Rotary will provide a post-run breakfast. Odessy Cafe and Wagtail Coffee van will be available

It is preferred that you bring your own cups and water bottle
