16 Days of Activism & The Red Bench Project.  

Join Townsville Road Runners and The Townsville City Council for an event designed to generate awareness of gender inequality and violence against women.  

Date: Saturday, 4 December, 2021

Location: Rossiter Park,  Kimball St, ending at the red bench!

Time: 6:30 am. Please arrive 15 minutes early for briefing and event overview

Distance: approx 5 km - loop around the river, from Rossiter Park - Nathan St Bridge -  Annandale - Aplins Weir - Mundingburra - back to the red bench at Rossiter Park! Activity stations along the way!

 Cost: donations welcome for violence-elimination-related projects 

What: the 16 days of Activism is an annual international campaign starting on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, until 10 December, Human Rights Day. Raise awareness and generate conversation about how we all have a role to play in creating gender equality in our society. Say NO to domestic and family violence.

Dress code!! The theme is "Orange the World: End violence against the world now! so please wear ORANGE if you have it!

Refreshments: Townsville Road Runners, Procut Meats will provide light refreshments after the run.
