The THA Umpire Academy will run again in 2025 and nominations are now open.

We encourage hockey lovers (aged 13+, younger ones may be considered) to consider this opportunity to gain valuable skills such as teamwork, communication, leadership, time management, confidence and improving their social network.

The Umpire Academy is not just about learning to umpire, but about channeling a passion for hockey and instilling skills that are transferable across all facets of life!

The Umpire Academy includes:

👉 Umpire commitments approximately every 3 weeks, where you’ll receive feedback from our Umpire Mentors.

👉 Your Umpire Starter Kit, including whistles, cards and a Mentor Feedback book and umpires shirt. 

👉 Access to Umpire Development workshops, arranged by our Umpire Academy lead Dan Burke.

The Umpire Academy is funded by THA and is free for all participants.

A welcome BBQ/Information Session will be held on the morning of Saturday 22nd March, before junior games start.
