Toowong Gift Results 2019

Published Tue 08 Oct 2019

Well the 2019 Toowong Gift has come and gone, the number were a little down on last year, particularly from within the club, but a number of other clubs filled the gap with strong numbers from Darling Downs Athletics and InTraining.

The best of our Toowong Harriers performances came from our masters ranks with Wayne Adams and Miwa Kolb both running themselves into second place finishes in their respective Toowong Gift 3000m events.

The podium of each event is listed below;

  • Gabrielle Schmidt 10:11.1 2nd Jnr Gift InTraining

A couple of the highlights of the afternoon was the tight racing across the Junior Gift boys with siblings Matthias & Jonas Forbes-Schultz taking out first and second followed by Curran twins Edward and William from Darling Downs Athletics battling for 3rd, only 0.4 of a second separating the twin boys over the 3km.

A new Track Record for the women's 3000m was set by Nikita Moore at 09:47.4, this took the old mark set by Margot Manning (09:48.0) in around 1995. An amazing effort!!

The event will be back next year bigger and better, please put it on your training calendar.
